DOGGIE COSTUME PARADE and CONTEST
sponsored by Flying M Feed Co, Lakeside Doggie Lounge www.lakesidedoggielounge.com and Pup Dog Designs on Sunday March 24. The Tomball German festivals are dog friendly. All we ask is that you bring all provisions for your dog’s care. Flying M Feed Co, Pup Dog Designs and Lakeside Doggie Lounge will provide some great prizes for first, second and third place winners! The parade starts at 12:45, and the contests start at 1:15 in the Telgte Dance Hall.
The CHICKEN DANCE CONTEST
sponsored by Chick Fil A is back! It will take place on Saturday in the Telgte Dancehall at 2:30. Winners will receive a nice gift basket from Chick Fil A, filled with toys and gift cards. Contestants must be in pairs. Creativity, costuming and entertainment qualities will be taken into account. Music will be provided for the dancing. Volunteer judges will watch as contestants shake their tail feathers. Judges will decide which pairs go to the final rounds, then the audience decides the final winners. There are 3 categories: Children under age 10, siblings any age, parent child any age.
The Big Squeeze ACCORDION CONTEST
sponsored by Texas Folklife. Houston region auditions will take place on Saturday morning at 10AM at the Bluegrass Stage. Anyone under 21 playing accordion is invited to compete. How To Enter: Participants may reserve an audition slot in any city by e-mailing srucker@texasfolklife.org or calling in (512-441-9255) the information detailed in the entry form. Contestants may also register by arriving up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled audition time at each site.
A YODELING CONTEST
sponsored by Texas Renaissance Festival! The contest is planned for Saturday evening. Winners will receive tickets to the 2013 Texas Renaissance Festival. Each contestant will be asked to perform a minute or less yodel. Creativity, authenticity and entertainment qualities will all be taken into account. No accompaniment will be provided or allowed. Contestants must show off their yodel in all of its vocal glory. Volunteer judges will help determine the winners by watching and listening to audience responses. Ultimately, the audience decides the winners. There are 3 categories for Yodeling: Children under age 10, Youngsters between ages 11 and 20, Adults ages 21 and up.
BEST DRESSED GERMAN CONTEST
sponsored by: Texas Renaissance Festival! The contest is planned for Saturday evening. Winners will receive tickets to the 2013 Texas Renaissance Festival. Dress is your best German outfit, be ready to act out your German character a little, and be ready to wow the crowd with your fancy German duds. There are 3 categories for Best Dressed German: single, pair, group of 6 or less.
